Bedrooms are our place for rest and winding downtime. This space should bring us peace and tranquility, free from mess and clutter!
Over the years we often accumulate a variety of material things. Many of these things are just sitting there untouched and neglected for years, and most importantly do not bring us any sense of joy.
The solution to decluttering your space, is to evaluate the things around you and ask yourself ‘Does this bring me any value or joy?’. Value is something that enhances your life, and Joy, is something that brings light and pleasure. And usually, when you are indecisive about the answer, it usually means No. so, GET RID of it.
Sometimes we hold on to things longer than we should, because we are unaware of the methods of getting rid of home items. But this should not discourage you as there are many ways too, e.g, donate to charities, skips, jumble sales and even handing them over to friends and family.
Gifting and giving to charity creates a spirit of connectedness and community.
Always remember to be grateful for what you currently have, as a heart of gratitude is a magnet for miracles.
The universe operates through circulation, we must keep the flow of things moving. The law of giving and receiving says if we keep things flowing in abundance the more abundance we will receive in our lives. This is a handy concept to keep in mind; the more you give the more you open yourself up to receive the things you really need. Holding on to things you don’t need adds zero value to your life and holds no true benefit.
‘Minimalism is the intentional promotion of the things we most value in life by removing anything that distracts us’ – Joshua Becker. By having an intentional clear out you make space in your life for things that will bring you great joy and value.
Having a clear out is likely to improve your sleep, increase productivity and clarity helping you to destress and welcome more peace within.
True lasting joy comes from making peace within. We don’t find authentic joy in buying, acquiring, or doing, but from being!
